News:

Hey if you'd like to learn what you're doing, rather then just throwing yourself at rocks and stuff, NETA champion, Women's national champion and TdN (that's Trials des Nations for you newbies) rider Louise Forsley is having another school August 30th in Chepachet R.I. Louise promised to provide more details shortly but here's the notice to set the day aside in your calendar.

For more info and to reserve a space you can contact Louise.

Be there or be doomed to forever ride like the guy who runs the website. (scary)

There's a fellow coming into Nashua, New Hampshire from New Zealand who'd like to know if any locals are going to the nationals in Vermont on the 19th that he can hitch a ride with. See the thread with contact info HERE

Fun events are popping up all over. Just like thunderstorms.

Jareth is planning a fun event July 5th in Berwick ME. Details HERE

The Vermont boys are also planning something like a local trials series but details aren't finalized yet. Will post when available.

If you missed coverage of the  Nebraska national MAV TV will be running it all through the week. Check your local listings.

YouTube can be fun and it can be annoying but occasionally it's just plain charming. You have to love this fellow. HERE

Hey Folks,

The Vermont national is still looking to fill out the checker roster. It's a chance to support the top riders, get a free lunch and fight off the largest mosquitoes on earth.

Actually it's a lot of fun. Last Vermont event I checked there were wild quail roaming about that would walk right up to you, salamanders guarding the sections and butterflies landing on me all day. It was pretty cool. The landowners make all kinds of maple goodies including maple milk shakes and there's nothing like being in the middle of the U.S. trials scene. EMAIL Leo O'Shea to sign up HERE.

Hey all you new riders. This is something you should try. You can be in a section with an experienced checker so you don't have to worry about making a wrong call just be an extra set of eyeballs for those blind spots (national sections tend to be much longer then the typical New England section), you get to chat with the elite and watch them do stuff that I swear is impossible and there's always the option of signing up to check one day and spectate another.

Looks like NY could use some checkers too. If you want to help out see details below.

The District 4 Trials Committee is looking for volunteers to check or punch for the two New York rounds of the AMA-NATC Championship Series on July 25 & 26. We have committed to putting on a superior event, and having experienced, responsible observers is a huge element of fulfilling this. To help us achieve this, we need you to work the event.

 1. The trial starts at 9:00 AM, Saturday, July 25. Workers should arrive at 7:00 AM for your section assignment and instruction on the latest NATC rules. It would be desirable for workers to arrive the night before if possible.

2. There is a $25 fee for camping at the site, but this fee will be waived for workers. This applies for working 1 day or both days. Most of the competitors will be camping at the site, so camping there will be a great chance to mingle with the best riders in the country.

3. A brown bag lunch with drinks will be given to workers.
4. Vests will be supplied by the Tryals Shop to identify workers.
5. Transportation to and from the sections for the workers will be provided.
6. The routine for Sunday’s trial will be the same as Saturday.

We thank you in advance for working the event. This a great opportunity to be involved at this level of competition. Please call or email me to confirm, even if you have signed up at an event or on the website.
 Chris Arnold.

... and now a message from Kip Webb,

Yes it is that time again. Time for me to beg for everyone to buy a shirt. This year should be less begging. That is because these shirts are HOT. This year Cody is on the shirt. It is a high detail silk screen shirt. The shirts are Hanes and pre shrunk. The price is $20 for one or $35 for two shirts. If you send a check to the address below. Make the check out to USA-TDN. Every shirt that I send out I will donate the shipping cost. That means an extra $3 bucks directly to the team. Sizes are XL, L, M and adult small. Please specify what you want.

This year the TDN is in Italy on Sept 19th and 20th. Not only do we have to send the Men's Team but there is also a Women's Team. All of these young riders typically end up spending their own money for the trip. Lets try to make it a little easier on them and have everyone buy a shirt. All of the money made from the shirts goes directly to the team

This year we would also like clubs to purchase shirts and sell them for us. This will help us sell more shirts to more people. If you are in a club and would like to help please e-mail Kip at kipwca3@aol.com or Clive at usatdn@yahoo.com please no marriage proposals

Just a reminder to all that NETA does not recognize bicycle helmets, climbing helmets or hard hats for competition. Only real motorcycle helmets. Yeah yeah we've heard it all. They're expensive, they're uncomfortable, they're hot... Blah blah blah. It's the rule and it just might save your life.
