RIDING CLASSES

These are the competition classes for NETA events, not training classes

Youth:
Youth class is for young riders on small machines learning the basics. Youth riders ride separate sections and loop set up only for youth classes. Youth riders are supervised on the course by an experienced rider who instructs as well as scores the riders. Non-trials type tires may be used for Youth classes if they meet the following criteria: Rider must be under 13 years of age. All 4 Stroke bikes must be under 105 cubic centimeters displacement. All 2 Stroke bikes must be under 71 cubic centimeters displacement. Must not be prohibited by land use rules. Youth classes start time is 1 hour before the start of other classes.

All children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at sign up and they both must sign the Minor Liability Release. Parent or guardian is responsible to supervise the minor to insure his/her safety and the safety of others at any time while at the event site.

Beginner:
Beginner class is for riders new to the sport of trials wishing to work on basics. Beginner class may ride the "B" (easier) line in the Novice sections however Novice sections may include a "C" line designated for Beginner class. Separate Beginner sections may be used at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course.
Junior:
Junior class is for riders under the age of 14 and under. Junior class typically rides three loops of eight sections.  Junior class typically rides the "B" (easier) line in the Novice sections however Novice sections may include a "C" line designated for Junior class. Separate Junior sections may be used at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course.

Novice:
Novice class is for riders with minimal trials experience. Riders with experience in other forms of off-road competition are encouraged to start riding in the Novice class. Novice class typically rides five loops of eight sections. Novice sections are designed to test basic skills and typically consist of off-camber turns, slippery rock fields, logs and steps no larger than 24". Novice class rides the "B" (easier) line in the Novice sections.
Vintage:
Vintage class is for riders on older trials bikes with drum brakes and twin shock rear suspensions. Vintage class typically rides five loops of eight Novice sections. Vintage class rides the "B" (easier) line in the Novice sections.
Senior Advanced:
Senior Advanced class is for riders over 40. Senior Advanced class typically rides four loops of eight Expert sections. Senior Advanced class rides the "B" (easier) line in the Expert sections.
Senior A:
Senior A class is for riders over 40. Senior A class typically rides four loops of eight Novice sections. Senior A class rides the "A" (harder) line in the Novice sections.
Senior B:
Senior B class is for riders over 40. Senior B class typically rides four loops of eight Novice sections. Senior B class rides the "B" (easier) line in the Novice sections.
Intermediate:
Intermediate class is for riders who have advanced beyond novice class and wish to ride a higher degree of difficulty. Intermediate class typically rides five loops of eight novice sections. Intermediate class rides the "A" (harder) line in the Novice sections.
Women:
Women's class is a class to allow women to compete against each other. Women's class  rides four loops of eight novice sections. Women's class  rides the "B" (easier) line in the Novice sections.
Advanced:
Advanced class is for improving riders who have graduated from intermediate class and are ready for tougher challenges. Advanced class rides expert sections with splits to maintain sufficient difficulty level. Typical sections are approximate national sportsman class level and contain short-approach obstacles, trick-turn areas, odd-shaped obstacles and steps of up to 48". Advanced class rides five loops of expert sections with splits to decrease difficulty. Advanced class rides the "B" (easier) line in the Expert sections.
Expert:
Expert class is for national caliber riders wishing to ride national championship type obstacles. Expert sections are approximate national expert class in difficulty. Expert class typically rides five loops of eight expert sections. Expert class rides the "A" (harder) line in the Expert sections.
