The Owls Head
Museum is looking for riders for a demo.
I am writing from the Owls Head
Transportation Museum in Owls Head, Maine and I am looking for a
way that we might work together. Our Museum demonstrates
pioneer era transportation everyday but our special events and
rallies celebrate the expansion of transportation from those
early times on to today in many ways and we are looking to
expand that demonstration. You can
see the diversity in our event schedule linked here
http://ohtm.org/events_2000.html
Trials is a fascinating niche of this world
and I am hoping that you might want to coordinate with us to
promote Trials to a broader audience. Would you be
interested and able to help us find Trials riders who would want
to demonstrate their sport at one of our summer events? I
am thinking our Vintage Motorcycle Meet in September (Saturday
and Sunday Sept 1 & 2) would be a perfect time but we could be
flexible on the dates.
Please let me know if you think this might
be of interest and if so, how we might proceed.
many thanks!

Hello Trials Fans!
I just got back from a trip to Spain for some training,
riding, and meetings with the folks at Gas Gas and Ossa. There
are a bunch of pictures from behind the scenes tours of both
factories plus some other highlights from the trip. Go to the
Moto Connection facebook page and click on the albums to see all
the details.....
For those curious about the 2013 bikes - Gas Gas has some
nice changes planned for their trials bikes - details to be
announced by them in the coming months. Over at Ossa, they are
about to start production on the new Explorer model, which I was
able to test ride while over there - very nice bike for sure!
In addition Ossa has some nice updates planned for the 2013
trials bike as well - all good stuff!!!
Go to
www.motoconnectionvt.com and
then click on the facebook link on the right column
of our homepage to go directly to the facebook wall - plenty to
see there!! Please become a fan and "like" that page if you
don't mind....
Thanks!

Another NATC National is
being held in New
England on June 23-24,
2012. This time the host
club is The Rhode Island
Trials Club and they
need your help to make
it a successful event.
It takes a lot
of people to properly
check a National and we
have a good base of
skilled checkers in New
England. Each section
needs a minimum of 3
people checking to make
it work smoothly, that’s
36 checkers per day.
With all of the work
that goes into setting
up a trials the event
does not succeed without
checkers on the day of
the event. You cannot
have a good trials event
without quality
checkers. I hope that
you will be able to take
the time to help the
Rhode Island Trials Club
by volunteering to check
one or both days.
Some of you may
have never checked a New
England event or a
national. Don’t worry
there will be training
each morning and there
will be people who are
familiar with the rules
there to assist you in
the latest versions of
the rules. This is the
only time the best
riders in the country
will be in New England
this year, don’t miss
out on the opportunity.
You will be provided
with one event t-shirt
and each day a lunch and
drinks. There will be a
dinner Saturday night
and checkers from both
Saturday and Sunday are
welcome.
Please let me
know, as soon as
possible, if you will be
able to check either one
or both days. Return the
form below indicating
which day or both days
that you can check and
if you want to check a
section with your
friends, please indicate
that on the form below
and I will do my best to
accommodate you. Once I
have your replies I will
assign sections and send
you a packet with
updated rules and your
section assignments. To
give the RITC organizers
time to fill any open
checking spots, please
let me know if you will
check by May 15, 2012.
Please email or call me
if you have any
questions.

Ever look at a NASCAR
race and think, "Wow,
that guy must really
like Tide" Well here's
your chance for people to
say, "Wow, New England
trials riders must
really like Louise
Forsley." We've watched
Louise grow up in this
sport and grow as a

the champion she is.
Let's face it, that

buying Louise breakfast

help her so...

Hello to all of my loyal
fans and supporters!
Your generosity and
encouragement has helped
me greatly in the past
years. As I begin the
2012 competition year, I
am calling on your
generosity and support
again. This racing
season is shaping up to
be the most intense and
exciting of my career
and I look forward to
meeting the challenge
head-on. In 2012,
I am going to be
competing against the
top women and men in
three racing series:
National Enduros,
Endurocross, and
National Mototrials.
As many of you know, I
began competing in
Endurocross for the
first time last year.
Not only do I find this
new type of motor sport
challenging, but I love
it! It allows me to
combine my abilities of
agility and balance
learned from many years
of Mototrials, with the
speed and aggression of
a powerful bike. I have
excelled in the
competitions, becoming
the first woman in
history to compete in a
men’s main event in
Idaho and later I took
first place at the Las
Vegas Women’s
Endurocross Finals.
I
am very excited about
competing this year,
however, after many
years of traveling and
living on the road and
out of my van, I have
become well aware of how
costly this life can be.
Any and all donations
that you could make to
support my effort would
be greatly appreciated.
I am looking to raise
enough funds to cover
the 2012 season, which
includes: gas expenses,
lodging and food,
insurance, bike
maintenance, and more.
Any contribution you
could make would help me
reach my goal.
Thank you for all of the
support you have given
me throughout the years.
It is because of you
that I have been able to
achieve as much as I
have today. With all of
the momentum from last
year, I can’t wait to
see what this racing
season will bring and I
am determined to give it
my all!
Please

Rules changes voted
in for 2012
- Change to rulebook
wording to the
effect that the
responsibility for
event cancellation
belongs to the
trialsmaster.
- Scorecard money for
the clubs will be
rolled into the
sanction fee.
- NETA will buy up the
remaining stock of
section markers from
the Singer Bros. A
vote to appropriate
funds for the next
printing will be
deferred to next
year's meeting.
- Adult entry fee is
raised to $30 per
event.
- Clarify rulebook
language to
explicitly allow
double gates. For
example multiple
classes can go
between the same set
of trees as long as
gates for both
classes are on the
same trees.
- Expert class
will now ride 4
loops.
- The board is
authorized to look
into and acquire
liability insurance
for the officers of
NETA.
Paul Salois has offered
to assist in the design
of loop markers for any
trialsmaster interested.
Contact details soon.
Tom Butland is first out
of the gate to ask if
anybody would like to
check in Highgate he'd
appreciate the help.
